Kejriwal's Bold Campaign Call: 'No Dinner for Modi Voters,' as AAP Unveils Women Empowerment Scheme

top-news

As the Lok Sabha poll 2024 campaigns intensify, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal has issued a bold directive to women voters, urging them not to serve dinner to their families if they vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a bid to mobilize support for his party, Kejriwal's provocative statement has sparked debate and drawn attention to the upcoming elections.

During a townhall event on Saturday, Kejriwal addressed women voters, emphasizing their crucial role in shaping the electoral landscape. "It is your responsibility now to convince your husbands, brothers, fathers, and other people in the locality to vote for the person who is working for their benefit," he asserted, urging women to exercise their influence in the political sphere.

Central to Kejriwal's campaign pitch is the AAP-led Delhi government's ambitious Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, unveiled as part of the 2024-25 budget outlay. Under this scheme, every woman above 18 years of age will receive ₹1,000 to foster financial independence. Kejriwal hailed this initiative as a game-changer, envisioning a future where women are empowered and economically empowered.

Highlighting the scheme's inclusive nature, Kejriwal stressed that every eligible woman, even within the same family, can avail of its benefits. However, his remarks were not without controversy, as he took aim at the BJP's criticism of the scheme. "They (BJP) say this scheme will spoil women. They say Kejriwal is wasting money by giving ₹1,000 to every woman in the city. I ask them when you waived off big loans of a lot of people, weren't they spoiled?" he questioned, defending the AAP's welfare measures.

Kejriwal's campaign strategy, marked by bold statements and a focus on women empowerment, underscores the fierce competition and high stakes of the upcoming elections. With both parties vying for voter support, the battleground is set for a clash of ideologies and promises, with women voters emerging as a crucial demographic in shaping the political landscape. As the campaign heats up, Kejriwal's rallying cry resonates as a call to action for women voters, signaling a pivotal moment in India's electoral narrative.
